Our award-winning training programme allows people around the world of all interests and abilities to learn about and appreciate our maritime heritage. It is accredited and internationally recognised, and has been running for over 30 years with more than 15,000 people having attended an NAS event.

Our Training Manager, Mary Barber in 2011 accepted the first Archaeology Training Forum Award on behalf of the Society. 

The Archaeology Training  Forum Award recognises and promotes best practice in training or professional development in archaeology. The award aims to recognise excellence in the fields of learning, training and professional development and is open to archaeological organisations, individuals, partnerships and collaborative projects throughout the United Kingdom, whether paid or voluntary. Entries must demonstrate an overall commitment to learning or training, and an innovative approach to best practice. Find out more here.
